Things pop off three hours into the watch. Until that point, everything had been quiet, and Gavin had even been bored, thinking about how much he was going to complain about being put on security duty again when all he wants is to be sitting passenger seat in someone’s car, firing an assault rifle back out the window and laughing into the night.

He’d been close to just turning in for the night and hoping everything would stay calm, but then Ryan’s car pulls in much, much faster than it usually does, and he hears Ryan jump out, run inside, and yell, “Duck!”

OK if i were to say i was really nervous about posting this, that would be an understatement. i don’t even know if i’m going to put it on ao3 or in the tags yet other than to keep track of it in my own blog bc i’m not very happy with the ending and it’s my first time posting fic for this fandom and also?? my first time writing jeremwood?? so i’m not ticking any boxes for confidence here atm. written plenty of freewood that is not finished in any way and therefore should not be posted but at least this is finished!!! i think what i really need to get by my block is to write short things that i feel like i can at least FINISH and this was the start of that process i think. anyway. /nervous ramble
